WORLD ORCHESTRA FOR PEACE AT UNESCO HEADQUARTERS
Members of the unique World Orchestra for Peace are arriving in Paris today, to give a short Performance at the conclusion of the Leaders’ Forum being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris tomorrow, Monday 16th January 2015 at 19.00 CET. This is the exact 70th anniversary of the founding of UNESCO and the originally planned programme has now been changed.
The 23 String players representing 19 nationalities and including eight concertmasters from 17 of the world ‘s leading orchestras will play works by Samuel Barber and Tschaikowsky – and their performance will be dedicated to the families and to the memory of those killed in the terrorist attacks on Friday.
Three of France’s leading Orchestras, l’Orchestre de Paris, l’Orchestre National de France and L’Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris will be represented by concertmasters who will direct the orchestra in parts of the performance.
The event will be live webcast by UNESCO on their website.
Cameras will be admitted to film the Orchestra at rehearsal between 13.30 and 14.30 and a limited number of interviews can be arranged with the Orchestra’s Director and Co-Founder, Charles Kaye.
